Tips for Success

• Organize monthly or bi-weekly discussions to be held at the same time and location.

• Choose a comfortable, informal room.

• Make it interactive - focused on facilitating audience participation.

• Choose hot-button current issues that students care about.

• Duration of no more than 45 minutes.

• DM or faculty member presents an overview and facilitates the discussion.

• Plan discussions for noon and have students bring a Brown Bag lunch.

• Get co-sponsorship for one or more discussions from other clubs and/or academic departments.

• Get funding from other clubs or academic departments and offer lunch.

• Have students sign in to the event and receive a DM information sheet.

• Publicize widely with posters, social media, class raps, flyers when tabling etc.
